Elaine Pang
Alisa Sun
Cindy Zhang

With the beginning of another new spring, Harrow Haikou invites you to visit our campus to join the Spring Charity Bazaar on March 3.
Our parents will sell their used items at the market.
Together we will bring the power of sustainable recycling to support the conservation of rare local species.
Time: March 3, 2023
Form of event
The Friends of Harrow Preparatory Committee encourages all parents to sell their unwanted items in the form of Car Boot Sales to raise funds to support rare species conservation projects. During the event day, you can play games, buy second-hand school uniforms, books, and toys, and enjoy delicious food at the market.
Requirements for Car Boot Sales
You are welcome to be one of the stall owners and run it with your children!
Each parking space requires a 7-seater or smaller car.
Parents are also welcome to donate raffle prizes for the day.
Signing up for Car Boot Sales
Four cars at most for each House at Upper School. One car at most for each class at Lower School.
There are 56 parking spaces in the car boot charity sale available. Please contact FoH for signing up.

(A map of the stalls and details of the set-up will be available this week, please contact the Friends of Harrow Preparatory Committee for more details)
Charitable Donation Targets
All proceeds from the sale at the bazaar will go towards the conservation and rescue of rare species such as flamingos, horseshoe crabs and terrapins.
How to get involved?
The event will be open to all students, parents and their friends and families at our school in different time slots. Please come and join us!
The Harrow charity programme is currently focused on:
1 | The conservation of rare species and the development of the Harrow leadership attributes of making a positive contribution to the community. |
2 | The Charity leaders create items for charity sales. Students are challenged to come up with new and innovative handmade products. |
In the new term, the Charity leaders will continue to support programmes such as flamingo conservation, horseshoe crab conservation and mangrove wetland environmental protection.
Meanwhile, more students have joined the EA classes in charity to support future Harrow Haikou charity programmes.
Let"s hear what new expectations they have for Harrow charity work!
William Wei
I once attended a charity summer camp to spend time with stay-at-home children, which inspired me to want to do charity work. When I joined Charity EA, what I wanted to do most was to volunteer in caring for the elderly. My grandfather has just passed away and it is my regret that he did not feel enough spiritual companionship and care during his final days. So I want to encourage more people to reach out to the elderly and care for them in their spiritual world.

I’m super lucky to be a Charity leader at Harrow! I really enjoy working with my classmates towards a shared goal. And I"m interested in marketing, as we work hard to promote our products at charity sales and continue to make progress and become braver in these charity activities.
I look forward to the future where we can also take more in-depth and professional measures for the conservation of endangered animals and continue to maintain ecological harmony and diversity.
Alisa Sun
From the very first coastal clean-ups to the fun, little charity projects I keep doing on Alipay, I"m always looking for opportunities to do my bit for charity. I am most interested in working on a charity campaign regarding plastic-free action, as plastic pollution is a serious problem worldwide and is extremely difficult to tackle. I hope we can be a part of it.
Cindy Zhang
If given the opportunity, I would like to see Harrow Charity run a programme for children with disabilities. The focus of society is on helping children in less developed areas, but we often over look children with disabilities. Each day they do incredible things that I find inspiring.

We hope to enhance the children"s in-depth experience in charity projects through varied activities. The children will participate in event planning, and charity sale preparation, and learn the skills of selling and operating stalls and financial calculations. While participating in enjoyable and meaningful charity activities, the children will improve their organisational, practical, and interpersonal skills.
In the bright and sunny days of early spring, Harrow Haikou invites you and your family and friends to join us at our Spring Charity Bazaar for fun-filled family time and to help support the charity work of the Harrow community.
